Hi all,
I'm looking for some ideas for 10-15 minute team building/fun games to break up some of the more football related aspect of camp. Looking for any and all ideas. Would prefer things that don’t take too much prep time or equipment.
Thanks

We do a ton of stuff.
We a football golf game with our tackling wheels and pair then by grade. One kid on the team punts the first shot and after that it’s kicked off the ground and the kids kicking rotate each time within their team. They don’t go their next ball until all teams have kicked and I yell go. Then they sprint. We tell them that’s the conditioning part of it. We can usually get 3 holes in in ten minutes. If you want it to go faster you could have them throw it.
We do a long snap relay with teams of four from sideline to sideline. We go down and back.
We will use tackling wheels and do long toss/discus with it and use half rounds and do like a javelin toss.
Relay races are always a good one and can do them different ways. We a lot of them starting with splitting a double team. We always have the double team set up with offensive linemen with hand shields with 2 foot split. We do it to help work out double teams and to help defensive players getting used to playing tough football.
We do a really silly one where we have two kids stand on old square dummies and hold a half round and they have to hit each of with the half round till one falls off.
Tug of war is classic. We use a dog toy rope that is 18 or 24” and so 1 on 1s with it
We have one called snacks in the grass where they tuck a yellow scout jersey into the back of their shorts or practice pants and then they chase each other around and try to pull it out. Last man with a jersey wins.
Obstacle course are always good.
We do NCAA tournament style brackets that pretty fun. If you Google tournament bracket maker you can get free and easy to use ones. We’ve done it with board drills, with 1 on 1s, with paper rock scissors. If you have multiple coaches prepping the next matchups it can go in ten minutes if not could take longer but kids love it.
On stupid hot days we will do a chug relay with Gatorade. Split them in two teams and give them a Gatorade. First guy on team goes and next guy cant go until a cos h confirms he’s drank his whole drink. We finish with coaches usually to keep those guys hydrated as well.
We will do football trivia too and kids love it. Usually put a coach on the team because kids struggle on some of the information but we try to make it pretty easy.
We will do American gladiator style get a ball in a trash can with levels of guys defending it the guy with the ball has to defeat and the last level they have to split a double team.
I’ve probably got a hundred of these things. We believe in competing and having fun so we spend five to ten minute a day doing stuff. Usually it’s pretty football specific but we will get a little gamier at least once a week.

We do a few fun ones.
Tackle Ring Throw - we get them into a team of 3-5 and everyone gets in a big circle. A coach will roll the tackle ring across the circle. Each guy (1 at a time to create some pressure) has to try and throw the ball through the hole. 3 points for in, 1 for hitting the ring. Add up the score at the end.
Punt/Pass/Kick. Teams of 3. We start on the GL, put a trash can in the opposite endzone. First guy kicks off the tee. 2nd guy punts it. 3rd guy throws/rolls whatever but comes out of the hand. Whoever ends up closest (where it stops) wins.
Coaches catch punts off the jugs machine is always a good end of camp competition. Good for the big fellas too
Every once in a while we'll do OL/DL RZ 1 on 1s but I'm always nervous about those

Good ol'fashioned egg toss is a great one. Pair up kids, throw, catch. If successful, take one step back.
One pitch whiffle ball tourney (chair for strike/out, ball/walk).
Flip barrels so the open end faces lines of players - "bowl" a football into the barrel
Jugs machine - sky balls (as high as it will go) and assign an exercise for misses

- Flexed arm hang off the goal post. - 3 man FG competition where each kid has to take a turn as kicker/holder/long snapper. - O vs D rock/paper/scissors. Whoever wins stays at the front of the line, loser is out. Keep going until the last guy standing. - heavy plyo ball throwing races - Big man high jump competition using stacked coffin bags and a crash mat - 3 point shooting contest using footballs and trash cans

1) Rock Paper Scissors race. - Split the kids in to teams, put one team on each sideline on the same yard marker. Each kid sends a rep running to the middle of the field, those two kids play rock paper scissors, winner stays at midfield, loser runs back to his sideline, sits down, and sends the next teammate. The first team with all members sitting down loses.
2) Football Race. - Put a football/Item every ten yards from the endzone. Put kids into even teams, send one kid down to grab an item, then comeback, next kid goes and grabs the next item, so on and so forth. - We always liked this one because some kids put strategy into by trying to figure out if they should get the farthest one first, or where to put the slower kids, etc.
3) Kit-Kat race. - Break kids into teams on the Goalline and do a relay race with a Kit-Kat (Stepover) Bag. Kids have to push the bag to a yard line (20 or 30 usually) and then push it back, next kid takes over the bag, so on and so forth. - If we want to make it more of a challenge we will put an item on top of the bag and the kids have to balance it on the bag and if it falls they have to go back to the beginning. (We will use a cone or a football or a helmet, something like that)
