Now that I'm retired I'm not particularly interested in watching HS football games. This is a competition I could whole heartedly support, though.

I am much too impatient to join the middle aged man smoked/bbq'd/grilled/etc club. Don't get me wrong, I love to eat it, but there's no way I could cook it. All that prep, sitting around in the heat for hours, owning 16 different grills. Just not me. Heck, I think 20 mins on my gas grill is an eternity sometimes.

Just like a Sat football meeting from 7am-5pm, watching 9 hours of film on a team that can't even snap the ball, or 3.5 hour practices to play a team that drops 80% of their passes but is "Air Raid"- it's a way to get away from their wife and kids. |

A former HC of a place I made a stop at was let go in his first year before Thanksgiving because they found out he was living in the coaches' office and regularly "entertaining" one of the player's moms in said office overnight. Apparently they were discovered sleeping off the aftermath by the basketball team on an early Saturday morning practice. There were also a multitude of other entertaining stories about that guy in his 5 month tenure there, but that was the straw that broke the camel's back. |
