Have any of you sent a player to the New Mexico Military Institute?
I know nothing about this program or the JUCO scene in general. They recently offered one of our players a "full ride". They claim everything is covered (room & board, food, tuition, etc.). I didn't think JUCO's could offer full rides. Any insight would be appreciated.

It's been a long time but I knew a few guys who went there back in my day. I know there were a few guys from our conference who went there... we had some look in to it but no one who ever enrolled.
I am not sure about the full ride part... but I do think they want to get some international students... maybe this is a way to do that. I don't think it would hurt to contact their coach or AD just to get more info.
They usually play a pretty diverse schedule... usually a pretty good program from what I know.

JUCOs used to offer full rides and I would assume they still could. I went to a JUCO in the mid 80's with room. board, and tuition paid.

NMMI is the alma mater of Roger Staubach. Prepped there a year before he went to the Naval Academy

I have had kids interested in playing there before. When i called or e mailed and attempted to get more information, I left messages and never heard back. It may be a great program, my only experiences with them were sketchy.

From what I understand Divison 1 JC can offer scholarships.

NMMI is very well funded and does offer full rides. This is accurate.
