I work at a small college, we're thinking about hosting a 7 on 7 tournament this summer/spring.
We've never hosted one before so im looking to gather some information from those willing to share.
*If you can, please share what state you or the 7 on 7 was in, as i imagine regional pricing will be a thing to consider
---------------------
How many games were played/guaranteed?
How much did the tournament cost? - Was it a flat rate for a team, or was it done as price per player?
How many days was the tournament held on?
Was it filmed?
What if any 'merch/swag' was included (shirts, hats, bags, etc)?
---------------------
Thanks coaches

Coach,
We don't do 7 on 7 outside of our O against our D in the summer, but I did find a brochure from a tournament hosted by a college in a neighboring state (Minnesota). Some particulars:
(2021) $240/team (prepaid; $275 at the door)
3 game minimum
T-Shirts for each team member (up to 15 it looked like)
This is for a one day tournament. It did not mention whether or not it was filmed (we attend a full contact team camp and they film all but one field... which is great).

We go to a couple of 1-day 7on7 tournaments during the summer. Cost is approximately $250 (must pre-register) per team. 3 game minimum and 5 game maximum. Everyone gets a t-shirt.
Also, I suggest: 1-Make sure you have trainer(s) present. No matter how much it cost..... 2-Playing timed games (i.e. 20 minute running clock). We've been at tournaments where Team A was on offense and Team B was on defense for 10 minutes, then Team B was on offense and Team A was on defense. 3-If possible, have REAL officials. We've participated in tournaments where college and/or high school players officiated; there was always an avoidable issue.

We went to UNC Charlotte last year and it was a 6 game minimum in the morning I believe, followed by a single elimination tournament. Seems like it cost us $200, but there was no lunch, and no T shirts provided. Depending on what you plan to provide as far as food and T shirts go, somewhere between 200 and 500 dollars per team is probably about right.

We played in a 7 on 7 "league" sponsored by a local DIII school every Tuesday evening in June. Two fields split in half (2 teams playing on each half field). Two games per evening for each school. Games started at 5 pm. 30 minutes long. Limited to 8 schools. $250.00 per school (paid for officials and college personnel). No swag (each school wore their own 7 on 7 shirts). College had their concession stand open for teams/spectators.
