Does anyone host a college recruiting information night at their school? If so, do you bring in a speaker, have your college advisors talk or? What sort of information do you share with the families?
Also on that note, does anyone have a Recruiting Coordinator position on their staff to deal with college coaches, help obtain transcripts, etc. ? I know the Head Coach does it at alot of schools but I also have heard of some places where maybe the Head Coach isn't in the building or they have an assistant that covers all the logistics of recruiting.
thanks in advance for your responses

I started having a night probably back in 2015 or so. I just merged it with my spring parent meeting, first 45min or so is for everyone and I go over summer schedules and season sign-ups, then go in to the recruiting portion which takes about another 45min(I tell people they're free to leave if they'd like). Here's a copy of the slideshow I've put together and go over. I expand quite a bit on each slide and give personal experiences from recruiting and how it always changes. docs.google.com/presentation/d/1DBy6HczK4F7pEFHVAix62b9WbF6Vs4TqgAEStPkeoY0/edit?usp=sharing I handle everything related to recruiting as the head coach, I used to have a coach that would help at times but he's no longer on staff anymore. Definitely understand why some staffs would designate this position to an assistant coach, as it can take up a lot of time. Especially when coaches are wanting to come through the schools to talk and meet with players. I'm fortunate to have an administration that understands how important it is when these coaches come through the schools. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions. The slideshow needs to be updated for this year, especially with info about the transfer portal as I've never seen anything like this year before.

There are all kinds of good things popping up on twitter for recruiting. The calendars with the contact periods for all different levels, what each level can offer, the odds of playing in college etc.
Not that we were pumping out prospects all that time but I would always give a little college football talk during our HC parents meeting. I was always honest and said it is very hard to play in college then would give out the average ht and wt of players at some of the local D2 schools to drive home that point. I think you have to be honest with people about college recruiting and what goes along with it. Especially now days with all the offer chasing and services and stars etc..
