Last weekend I attended my first ever clinic (Glazier). I loved it and there was some really good presenters there and there was some presenters that had great information, but was not really the greatest speaker.
My question is:
who has been some of your favorite speakers?
who would you like to see speak?
why?
what did they cover?
My favorites from this past weekend, was Bliase Winter and Dave Cisar.
Bliase was an animal you could tell he loved every second of what he was doing. First saw him speak on hand use on the line using martial arts and then motivation. If you do go see him DONT SIT IN THE FRONT ROW! If he uses you to "Volunteer" you will fill it in the morning.
Dave had some great information and presented it very well. I am really disappointed I did not see more of him. I messed up the time he was speaking. Actually did that twice. If you go to a glazier clinic make sure you plan ahead on who you want to see. With so many speakers and sessions it is easy to get times mixed up.

Dan Hawkins was great and so was Butch Davis. Hawkins for his enthusiasm and pointing out the importance of keeping an eye on the details. Davis because of the quality of info on planning practices and general organization, plus the extra stories that he threw in kept everything interesting. Mike Shula's QB presentation was also really good, but I got hand cramps from trying to keep up with notes.

Herschel Moore is absolutely hilarious. I was impressed with all the speakers I heard at the National Wing- T clinic.
The most memorable session I ever attended was by Jeff Spector (?) from NJ. He spoke about defending the Wing T and a guy from the audience almost started a fistfight with him. It was great.

I would say Wes Elrod and Tony Demeo. They move quick but dont lose you and they are hilarious.

Pat Hill of Fresno St. did a great job last year at the Nike Clinic in Atlanta. He involved many of the people from the audience to come up and he sat us in five seats like his OL. He then showed us how he teaches his OL blocking assignments vs. different fronts.

I forgot to tell ya who I would REALLY like to see. That would be the great Lou Holtz. I don't think he speaks at clinics, has anyone ever seen him speak anywhere?

For enjoyment, I really liked Rich Rodriguez at th Michigan clinic. He was funny! I have seen many that I have enjoyed, but the up & coming coach is is Butch Jones, Central Michigan, and yes former assistant with Rich. Butch was very outgoing, had allot to say, and kept your attention. I can see why Central is turning into a good program.

Mark Speckman is great.
Not only to listen to, but he has very good control of his arms, he has no hands but still manages to write, draw plays up, and flip pages. He is a great guy who has overcome a lot

Blaise Winter is great. It amazing how much he breaks pass rushing down into different segments. Jerry Campbell is good when talking option and zone blocking. I'm sure he's good on all his topics; those are the only two I've seen him speak on. I haven't been too impressed with any of the "big name" guys I've seen speak.

Probably horrible of me to say but I can almost feel the spit coming through my screen when he talks.

Mike Leach - talking about anything is entertaining. Tommy Condell (OC SE Louisiana) - high-energy, friendly specific-based presenter who goes over the rationale behind what he is doing. Tony Sporano (now Mia HC) - straight forward and no gimmicks... JT Curtis (John Curtis) - very passionate guy who is big on details and will take as long as he needs to get a message across. Just a really nice guy Mike Sabock (NIU) - concise presenter and explains all the pros and cons of his stuff and is very accommodating
seen a lot of other guys who were good, many who were good because of their subject matter, but the ones listed went above and beyond most presenters I've seen in conveying their message and follow up later.

I had the pleasure of seeing Terry Eidson, DC at De La Salle, this past weekend. Absolutely great. Also, Tom Mason and Randy Stewart (LB's and DB's, respectively) from Fresno State were fantastic. Jeff Tedford has been good. As was Sanford from UNLV.

Chris Hatcher - couple of years ago, loved listening to him. Also, the first time I ever heard someone say if he had it his way, he'd never run the football.
DL Coach from NC State (Coach Willis? I think) was memorable. Not for the content, though it was good, but watching him fight to keep his language remotely clean because there was a female in the room.
Hopefully this thread will help me, because I can think of a lot more bad than good

I will say this... For those of you who ever had the luck to hear former FAMU HC Billy Joe speak at a clinic you'll know why he's hands-down my favorite. Possibly the most entertaining speaker I've ever heard.

He had 400 of us standing in front of our chairs teaching us how NOT to false step etc. Well done presentation. The best one I do is on O-line and Single Wing if you can. But dont miss Slack, I always try and hit his sessions.

Tom Herman on wing-t OL play. Not that I agree with everything he teaches but I have never seen a more hands on presentation with such enthuasiam. If you have the chance to see him speak make sure you don't sit in the front row. I know guys who have left with bruises from his talks LOL. Very high energy!
Also the OL coach from the Bengals. Forget his name but it was one of the funniest talks I have ever been privy to. Very un-PC

I dont have a favorite. I think it depends on the topic too much. there are dynamic speakers that talk about stuff I simply do not care about. On the other hand I can sit thru a "dull" speaker if he is covering information I care about and want to learn.
In the past I have enjoyed all of Don Markhams clinic films yet others complain that he is dull and will put you to sleep? I could listen to him for hours. I could have listened to Lombardi for hours too.

Does he still use the old-school overhead projector? ;D Herman is great...saw him once and have him on a few videos. That guy has FORGOTTEN more about offensive line play than I will ever know. I have smoke coming out of my ears when he is done talking.

He is a great guy who has overcome a lot I had the privelege to sit beside him at a meal at this year's AFCA, it was incredible to watch him eat! On the subject, Dave Cisar, you did a great job in Indy. I will echo many of the names hear. Campbell, Demeo, Slack I have heard Ken Leonard from IL (Sacred Heart Griffith) a few times, he is very good.
