Prayers for his family.
I added stupid sweep late in the year one year for fun and our kids loved it. Bruce did an amazing job of putting stuff out there for coaches and will be missed

God bless him. RIP and prayers for his family.
Bruce Eien was one of the first coaches to put together a coaching site back in the mid-90s. I was looking at his stuff as a HS kid back then who only someday dreamed of coaching. It’s where I first learned about the Run and Shoot and other “exotic” offenses of the time.
He was a huge influence on me as well as many other coaches of my generation, and in the limited correspondence I had with him, he was always helpful and cool. It’s impossible to know how many people he helped and how much of a debt the game owes him now. I will always be grateful.

I was praying from Brazil watching his wife's posts about his status. No words to describe, I didn't speak that much with him but when it happened he really helped me. I learned so much researching his material, RIP, coach...

I visited his site probably hundreds of times in HS, he's absolutely one of the major influences that lead to me catching the coaching sickness. Most of us could coach 50 years and never have the kind of influence that he did.

I too was communicating with Bruce as a High School kid. I exchanged many playbooks and VHS tapes of film with him. Back when you had to copy 3-500 pages and stuff it into a box, finally taking it to a post office. A big reason I got into coaching 20 years ago was because of this man fueling my thirst for knowledge. RIP Coach, you were one of the good ones and touched more young people both as players and coaches than you probably even know.

Wow, and he'd previously dodged a few bullets healthwise. When someone does that, I tend to develop the idea in the back of my mind that he's immortal.
