What you’re doing on offense and defense is fine. Don’t buy all these “Black Friday” deals for O and D…just go watch your film and evaluate to find out what and why what you currently do isn’t working…you don’t have the people for the “Facemelter”. You just don’t! Quit Fooling Yourself. Lol
Stick to your Guns!
Happy Thanksgiving!!!

It's only slightly better than the content you get from a clinic talk and they'll trickle it out for as long as possible because if you got ALL of the good stuff, you'd move on.
Make friends w/ people who are doing what you do, but better.

I got friends that do what I do. They just have better dudes and what we do isn’t very adaptable/forgiving I feel. So I’m increasing my circle of friends and looking for wing-t friends.

The {censored} that is free, at least in my experience, for the most part has FAR more value than what you can pay for. Just go to hueytube, pay attention, most of the sh7t I find valuable is available for free. I havent paid for a saban thing yet. You can pay to have saban explained to you, but it wont take you long to realize you wasted good money. You will be shocked by just digging through the site how much is available for absolutely nothing.
Now, I need a recommendation or a clip before I pay for anything.

But coach... you don't have plays you can call to make your 5'8" 150 lb. WR who runs 5.3 win against a 6'3" 200 lb. SS who runs 4.6 and has offers from SEC schools?
I was a hell of a lot smarter when I had 7 NFL players on my roster (4 current, 3 will be drafted this April) and we just ran Iso and Power all day. I was a genius.
Every year I offer to do some scouting, trade film, I'll explain how we do things, etc... ALL FOR FREE if anyone is really interested. I think some guys think "free is free because it isn't as good as the $39.99 bundle". I am more of a "The $39.99 bundle is the same sh!t I'm doing, I'm just buying a set of vocabulary words that mean the same thing for $40".
Hit me up if you want to bounce ideas off each other. I'm always trying to find better/easier ways to do stuff.

You don’t have Tennessee Receivers…so don’t try and research to implement that! 🤣🤣🤣

Serious question!

In 50 years I have never had 15 D1 players (total) on teams I coached, let alone7 NFL players. We have lots of Ralph's who carry a lunch pail, not many Thor's who can carry Mjollnir (Thor's hammer).

In 20 years of coaching I never coached a single D1 football player. Did have a D1 wrestler play football, but no football players. In 9 years of being a HC, I only had 6 kids even go on to play at least D3. Idk what that means about me, but I choose to think it means I could do quite a bit with not very much.

They haven't been drafted yet... just double checked and one is now not on active roster, so 3 currently playing, 1 on practice squad, 2 supposed to go 2nd/3rd round in draft, and possible 6/7 rounder. A long way to go...
They are the reason we won state. Like I said... I was a genius running the ball almost 90% of the time

I've coached 2 guys that have played in an NFL game, one is on his second conract and is a full time guy, the other got called up off the practice squad a couple times. Neither had a D1 offer coming out of high school, interestingly enough.

I think its probably just indicative of the region/ school size of where you coach. I have coached dozens of D1 kids, and coached against many dozens more. And I can say without doubt, that theyd all still be D1 if I had never coached. That being written, ive coached in areas with large populations, in relatively warm weather climates, that consistently produce talent and top ranked teams

I'm not going to lie; I've had a f ew D1 kids. When I coached them, all I had to do was tell them what time the bus was leaving and make sure they were on it. As the saying goes, "Good players make good coaches."

Has dressed and played in a couple of games. I wasn't here when he played. If the NFL is paying you, you are an NFL player and you are freaking amazing. Interestingly, he had no power 5 offers. Played at App State. I had one just get drafted in the supplemental XFL. First I have had drafted. But that ain't the same as NFL. Not even close.

In 50 years of coaching I have coached half a dozen guys who went D1. No pros (other than one who played MLB). A large number of guys who played D3. The numbers I'm most proud of is the number of former players in successful marriages, who run successful businesses, who ended up in high profile jobs, who entered the priesthood, and those who ended up coaching. Most of my high school career (44 years) was spent coaching run-oriented offenses. The wishbone, the Syracuse trap-option, the Wing-T, and the Double Wing. Why? Because most of the schools I worked in were small private/Catholic/Christian schools that didn't attract big-time athletes. After evaluating the talent (or lack thereof) in those schools it was always apparent to me that we needed to do something different from what everyone else we played was doing at the time. Basically tried to do everything I could to highlight my athletes' strengths, and not expose their weaknesses. Apparently that approach worked. Won a bunch and lost a bunch building and rebuilding programs not only on the field, but off the field as well.

You don’t and won’t see the same defenses the cool guys on TV see. This... I always watch those high levels and wonder how Y cross gets open so much, or simple 4 verts. Dudes are running 147 different coverages and someone screws it up... or some dude wins 1 on 1. Occasionally something cool gets packaged together that's worth it, but Power 5 and NFL (most of the time) is a completely different game.

One of my first qb's is looking at my knee this Friday and did surgery on my daughter's shooting elbow this summer. Another player (27 years old), runs his own nationwide company and hired my son as an electrician. My 22 year old son will go on jobs for 8-12 weeks and bring home more in 2 weeks than I make in a month.
