School 1 (school of 500 or so in Ohio)- a couple shirts, polo and jacket
School 2 (school of 500 or so in Ohio)- polo, t-shirt
School 3 (D1 school in Ohio, highly competitive)- Polo, jacket, nike shoes, 3-4 t shirts a year, 1 pair of shorts winter hat, baseball hat, it was awesome. Our Head Coach was big on taking care of us because he knew he couldnt give us the size stipend we deserved
School 4 (school of 500 in Michigan, 1st time as Head Coach)- everyone got a polo, short sleeve windbreaker, 3 t-shirts, 1 pair of shorts, baseball hat, winter hat (I learned from the previous HC I worked for that theres other ways to show your appreciation besides the stipend)
School 5 (school of 340 in Michigan)- polo some years, 1-2 shirts, then I got hand me downs from former coaches.
Not complaining just answering the question.

Most years I get: Home/Away Polo, 1-3 Hats, 1-3 coaching or spirit shirts, some kind of upper body outerwear (California Coast, we don't need much), and HC usually gets me some kind of gear gift as JV HC.
We can't afford to pay even half of our coaches, so it's a big deal to make sure that our coaches are kitted out as best we can manage.

When I was a HC I purchased most of my players' protective equipment from one vendor each year through my FB budget. For that, the vendor threw in coaches' game polos, coaches' practice tees, and hardware kit free. Our camps income paid for the coaches' participation, and for the players' spirit packs (2 tees, 1 pair of shorts, and a hoodie). The booster club pitched in coaches' sideline jackets through the athletic department golf tournament.

Our coaches get... a pair of shoes a couple of T shirts a couple of pairs of shorts a polo for games a hat and usually later in the year, a hoody, sweatshirt, pullover, or jacket for cooler weather. You add coaches each year I want everyone to have something to wear to help keep them warm once the weather changes.
We are a 2a school in NC (around 700 kids)

Last school I was at we got a team t-shirt and some years school paid for a polo some it didn't. Actually last two years we could also pick one item like a hat or light jacket, they were for every sport so not football specific. Everything else you could order from spirt wear.
School before that we had more resources and got t-shirts. shorts, polos, jackets some years, hats etc.
First school I coached at, tradition rich Catholic school, we got whatever we wanted that year. Still have a nice GorTex jacket from there that keeps me dry still!

I received: 3 hats (home, away, and practice) 4 t-shirts 1 heavy shirt 2 polos (home, away) 2 pairs of shorts 1 sweatshirt was offered some hand me downs and left overs from years past, but nothing in my size.
Our HC is pretty awesome about the swag so I will be getting more stuff as the year goes on.

Jeepers, you are spoiled. 3 t shirts coaching polo, bucket hat Again, every situation is different. A lot of those places that give you complete coaching gear one year will take away your job the next.

Our staff this year was given: 2 Polos 2 1/4 Zips 3 t-shirts 2 shorts Hat Shoes Golf Pants for game
As long as I am a HC - I will do everything I can to take care of our staff. The stipend isn’t enough - heck the “gear” isn’t enough… but I want to try to make it clear to the staff they are important.

It varies by year: always a hat but sometimes two, T-shirt, gym shorts, a polo every other year or so, every other year a quarter zip jacket, and shoes every year. My sizes can be difficult to get so I don't always get all of that stuff. Were pretty well taken care of

Question is places that get a ton of gear, do you get to keep everything when you leave? lol When I left places I left them my coaching gear that was paid for by school money or fund raising so they could reuse it if they chose to.

That's what I'm most familiar with. When you leave, leave the gear. I've even left things I bought with my own money. The HC at my former school still wears a top that I would wear for games when I coached with him. We have a great relationship, so I left them everything I had (5-6 years worth) so they could give it out.

When I was a head coach our athletic director was a spazz if he lost his shitt on you he would feel bad and buy you some kind of gear.
We figured it out so a couple times a year I’d pick a fight with him for the wardrobe upgrade.

Used to be in a program that would give ALL the nike stuff, 2-3 sets of shirts and shorts, weather gear every year, sneakers, hats.
Now in a program where they give you enough to look good on game day and then "lucky to get a t-shirt" territory.

No, I always took my gear and gave it to kids I liked. I earned that gear. One school gave us winter coats but said if we kept them had to pay for them. That's after getting 2nd in state. I let them keep them.
