There are a lot of spread guys with good stuff on here, what are some of your responses to mix it up type defenses that bring pressure from different areas?

screen, flare and sprintouts are good... do you have problems vs press on your 4 wr's so WR screens are tough to run, and the D having a spy on F for screen? We face a team that will be right in our face press in a 33 look and come and then be in cov 2. We have used a slip screen with the F, start one side and slip him out the other pretty well and speed option.

My number one answer to pressure and blitzes are Option. I also would run some draws, and screens. However when we see a team that brings a lot of pressure we will check to our option game.

Well, in a 1 back we have the potential to account for 7 guys.. 6 with blocks and 1 is up to the QB.. Now, if they are bringing 7.. then they are more than likely going to be in 0.. so there shouldnt be a free hot..

i ponder this question a lot. then I think why would a dc bring pressure against a spread team?
I say this because, if you are a spread team, you are setup to handle the blitz. blitzing would be playing right into the hands of the spread offense.
anyway, vs 5 wide offense, some times we have people who want to blitz 6 and cover the 5 wr man to man. I commend the dc for the courage to do so. it is sort of like smashmouth football in a way.
I know 2 things are going to happen, either he is going to get me or I am going to get him. depending on the down, if he gets me (sack), we still get to lineup and play another down. punt is not a dirty work either.
If I win, there is a good chance the band is playing(ours not his), the fans are standing and cheering and I am calling out FG team.
almost every pass play I run has a pressure read built right into it. if it does not, the qb knows what he has to do. better to take a sack, then to throw a int.

Extra pressure really doesnt bother me.. Im more concerned about the 4 down linemen because my Oline is so bad..
