I am hearing that more and more coaching staffs have switched to not conducting in-person meetings over the weekend, which is interesting to me. So I am wondering how staffs (whether you meet in-person over the weekend or not) communicate or get organized for the upcoming opponent? More specifically, what tools do you use? I know we will meet, then text each other, and do some Google Doc sharing. But I know there are other ways to skin a cat: Hudl, Slack, Zoom, etc.
I'm just seeing if there's another way to communicate/get organized that is more convenient, efficient, timely, and just as effective.

Last season we met on Zoom Sunday nights and went through things then texted/emailed each other. That was enough to be on the same page. Only two coaches were in the high school and I think out of the 9 coaches, we lived in 5 different towns so meeting in-person is difficult to get everyone together.

I gotta ask, how much is everyone changing week to week? In that lots of direct communication between coaches to game plan for the next opponent seems to be unnecessary.
Speaking from a primarily defensive standpoint, i appreciate all coaches on deck to enter data into hudl for the upcoming opponent; but everyones specific tasks in that respect are already planned out- and even those on campus all go to a separate room to do that anyways. Ditto, Drawing up plays for the scouting packet, and if needed scout book, is just divided up and done on your own. Just as long as your work is submitted in time.
We do our same indi drills week in and week out, so no need to meet on that. And there rarely is a lot of nee things to install each week. What we have the scout team run, is predicated by what the hudl breakdown shows, so not anything really to meet about there.
This just leaves how we want to attack/defend them. Each coach should look at the opponent, and scout the talent of their positional matchup - whose their weak link, do they have any tells. But they can just text or email any thoughts they have. Why do we need to have all coaches communicating at once? Ive noticed this just leads to wasteful bickering or pi55ing contests over who can get their way. Being louder or more aggressive doesnt make a point more valid- but often times thats how it ends up in staff sessions; that or they just develop into bull sessions. If a position coach has a thought they can submit it, then its up to the coordinator to decide on what to do.
After that, its not difficult to implement the plan, because its just choosing different stuff we already do
