We are putting together a youth football camp at my old High School. One group is K-4th grade the other is 5th-8th. Any idea on a schedule or drills for different positions. I'd love to hear from people who have done it before about what does and dosen't work.

limit the talking to the younger groups. they can't process it all anyway. correct mistakes but don't get caught up in coaching them like you would a senior in hs. put them through drills that limit down time or standing around while others go. they love to run and tackle dummies. do some of the same drills you do at the high school level just tweak them some to include a ball (i.e. a "sack the qb" drill with a ball on the top of the dummy. after they make a sack, have them "scoop & score"....kids love this type of stuff) .... make the game fun to play. that is the number one rule we use when conducting our youth camps. we want to show the kids that the game is fun, number 1, then we start to instill in them that there is a correct way to make you better.
