I'm sure he doesn't get fired either. Probably "Steps away to focus on his family". Or, has a sudden debilitating health condition ala Urban Meyer.

He has been canned.but that is never the “official reason.” And the job he has now is one of envy, but no money My boss was canned from a job for “cussing.”( you think racism doesnt exist? Ha!)But gave him a one year-pay out that could pay off my mortgage.

I used to be kinda crunk. As I stayed in the profession I became less crunk. My last year in the press box I was crunkless.

Honestly, can any coach who "keeps it crunk everyday" ever be expected to pass the drug screen?

In some parts of the world, being a “ family man” is prerequisite to being the hc. Not him, but just the appearance overlooks a lot of sins. The entire southern tradition of acting overly religious and as if without sin, while (some could argue) sinning more than "average", mystifies me. See Hugh Freeze as example 1. I mean Hugh Freeze coaching at Liberty while Falwell Jr. ran the school is one of the most interesting ecclesiastical and theological crises of all time. I am religious, but it’s always bothered me seeing (Insert Religion Here) Coach TM guy instead OC the coach who happens to Believe, or not believe, in X.

Is this any better than the Crunk guy? Asking for a high school DC prospect to have FBS/FCS Coordinator experience. I know Coach Hudspeth's resume, but if you don't have a dude specifically that you are trying to bring in do you think random past D1 DCs are surfing the high school school job board on football scoop?
"Gulf Shores (AL): Mark Hudspeth at Gulf Shores High School is looking to hire a new Defensive Coordinator to replace Brian VanGorder who left to become head football coach at America Heritage HS in Delray Beach, Florida. FBS/FCS college Defensive Coordinator experience preferred. No portal, Great situation, facilities, amenities and live at the beach! Please email interest to DFO Jacob Sparkman at jsparkman@gsboe.org"

The "Crunk Guy" is adding to my growing belief that I am the last of a dying breed: a grown a-- man who knows how to act like a grown a-- man. Thats not saying I don't use slang when with my boys, or just hanging out. But to put a cornball phrase like "crunk" on a job post is trying too hard to give off a persona. As someone previously noted, its like Michael Scott from the office. I can picture this dude turning his chair backward in a faux informal way and telling his players "lets rap about life bruh". You can use a phrase like "high energy", instead of a forced and cheesy attempt to be hip and relevant that makes you come off like a clown.

"Crunk" means, or did, being drunk and high simultaneously.
Apparently the coach at East Laurels needs some edumacation on what he wants in a coach-STC coordinator.

Meh.... it sounds like something from my 2002 baseball team I coached.
"Crunk" and "Get Crunked" was out of favor with the HS players at that point. We had a kid on the team that was simply a filler type for a small school and just a 'little bit' on the outside of the in crowd.
In an early season scrimmage that meant absolutely nothing, we were 'down' about halfway through. This kid sitting on the bench came out at the inning change and yelled, "HEY Y'ALL, WE NEED TO GET CRUNK"
He wore that nickname for the next 2 years.....

I dug pretty deep down the rabbit hole. It's a 90's Atlanta Hip Hop turn, meaning you get so cranked up that you are crunk. It's basically high (level not intoxicated) energy. Bad English yes, very silly absolutely, but not drunk and high at the same time.

Yes he is, but do you think a lot of those former D1 DCs are looking around the Footballscoop High School job postings? Plus he named dropped Brian VG, who cares...

His Twitter definitely keeps it crunk for the Lord. Why do coaches always feel the need to use their wives/kids as props for pictures/interviews? In some parts of the world, being a “ family man” is prerequisite to being the hc. Not him, but just the appearance overlooks a lot of sins. A guy I coach with is the HC for a home-school team...lots of uber religious families with kids on his team. In the past couple years... * 2019: Three families pulled their kid off the team for "not being a family man," because he let a girl play on the team (even after explaining them at a special parents meeting about it that the team would get shut down by the state if they didn't allow girls to play). Their complaint was that he was supporting immoral gender roles. * 2020: Parents threatened to pull their kid off the team because they heard him say "hell" once. * 2021: Lost 5 players/families because he hired three women coaches. His wife is also part of the LGBTQ+ community, but they have to keep it hidden for fear of losing more players/families. "Family Man" requirements are alive and well still in some parts in the U.S. In a conversation with him, he told them this is one of the biggest issues every year for other teams in the home-school league too: Overly protective or religious parents trying to impose absurd standards on teams. The nice part though is since he's not tied to a school, while he may lose players, he's not bound at all to any school-board or group of talking heads telling him what to do.

His wife is also part of the LGBTQ+ community, So. Many. Questions. Why? It's not hard to comprehend. Some people like men, some like women, some like everyone. I'm in the latter myself (like everyone). I'd be happy to explain more (not here/not the thread for that), but not if there's going to be stereotyping assumptions or "questions."

How does a team end up hiring 3 female coaches? If they can coach then no harm no foul but hiring 3 feels like it's on purpose or making a statement in some way..
Wouldn't fly around here tbh. Not just because people would think it was weird (it is), but because if my life depended on hiring 3 qualified female coaches I'd be effed running and sideways.

Not just because people would think it was weird (it is), but because if my life depended on hiring 3 qualified female coaches I'd be effed running and sideways. Because two of them already had 10+ years of coaching experience (I coach with them now myself, and one of them is now the HC of our team), and the third is an all-american DB in the women's football alliance who has more football smarts than most coaches her age (and plays with far better technique than most high school DB's I've seen)...the big piece is that all three are reliable and professional. He coaches a team where no coaches get paid/it's all volunteer, and this was the first year he didn't have coaches either randomly vanishing early or midway through the year, or starting fights with their own players. Since I started coaching women's football, I've found it really is just a matter of people being ignorant outside of that circle when it comes to women coaches. It's only "weird" if people want it to be. They shouldn't have to work or prove themselves twice as hard that they can coach simply because they're women.

Sometimes, people have different perspectives and experiences that lead them to have different viewpoints and moral compasses. Those people are not ignorant, or stupid, or whatever. They are different than what you perceive to be "normal". Their viewpoints, no matter how ignorant, backwards or whatever you view them as, should be valued as much as that person.
Have a fantastic day.
