Does anyone use any good apps for communicating with your team? Schedule updates, reminders, ext. I don't teach in the building that I coach at and am looking for the best way to communicate with my players. I don't text with players, I have set up team facebook and twitter pages but most of the kids don't have either of those and I am too old for Instagram or tik tok. Thanks!

Try the Remind app (it might be called Remind 101). I believe that it’s free and you can easily add/communicate with both players and parents. Because it is an app, you don’t actually have anyone’s cell phone number (parents can be touchy about that) but all communication shows up as a regular text message.

Set up a group chat. You can print off a QR invite and have your kids scan and join the group Free. Easy. You can private message kids. And keeps records of your convos

SportsYou is the best one that I've found. I've used it for a few years now. It has everything that I needed and was a huge tool for us. Parents loved it. It has a calendar feature that you can add anything to and will send reminders, a schedule feature, you can load video/pictures to share, and it has unlimited characters. I used to use Remind, but there is a limit on how many characters that can be used per post. In SportsYou, you can type out huge messages and send them with no issues. And, it's free!

Our school now has 7 programs that use SportsYou and the next most used is our schools canvas classes. Parents like SportsYou because they can create groups for parent led activities.

I would second the Remind app. My district sets it up and controls it. I also have it for my daughters activities in her school, activities such as band and sports that are outside of my district on the same app. All of the messages are visible to the district which takes pressure off of the staff and you can call through it as well with no numbers attached.

We use Whats App, but some of these other sports centric chat apps intrigue me.
