Some that we use: "Hold your head high as you take the field today. Through these doors pass champions!" (plaque over locker room door which goes on to list all of our league, district, bidistrict, regional, etc... championships.)
"Pain is temporary, Pride is forever"
"We hit! We Win!" tied to a team cheer.

When I get older in my life... want to teach the kids:
"Play with your head and execute with your heart."
By that meaning, play smart football (no sense for penalties and personal fouls) and execute (make your plays something to be proud of).

WINNERS vs LOSERS
The Winner is always a part of the answer The loser is always a part of the problem
The Winner always has a program The Loser always has an Excuse
The Winner says "Let me do it for you" The Loser says "Thats not my job"
The Winner sees an answer for every problem The Loser sees a problem in every answer
The Winner sees a green near every sand trap The Loser sees two or three sand traps near every green
The Winner says "It may be difficult but it's possible" The Loser says "It may be possible but it's too difficult"
When a winner makes a mistake, he says, "I was wrong;" When a loser makes a mistake, he says, "It wasn't my fault."
A winner works harder than a loser and has more time; A loser is always "too busy" to do what is necessary.
A winner goes through a problem: A loser goes around it, and never gets pat it.
A winner makes commitments; A loser makes promises.
A winner says, "I'm good, but not as good as I ought to be;" A loser says, "I'm not as bad as a lot of other people."
A winner listens; A loser just waits until it's his turn to talk.
A winner respects those who are superior to him and tries to learn something from them; A loser resents those who are superior to him and tries to find chinks in their armor.
A winner feels responsible for more than his job; A loser says, "I only work here."
A winner says, "There ought to be a better way to do it;" A loser says, "That's the way it's always been done here."

Nine Affirmative Principles
1. I can achieve far beyond my horizons, and in avenues of life I have never explored.
2. I posess a basic goodness which is the foundation for the greatness I can ultimately achieve.
3. I must take responsibility for my actions, my well-being, and the attainment of my maximum potential.
4. I must seek self-awareness, self-approval, and self-commitment in order to attain self-fulfillment.
5. I must commit myself to building and maintaining relationships that are critical to the social development of my family and community.
6. I must manifest the belief that mutual respect is the fundamental element of all relationships.
7. I will enrich my own life by helping others to enrich theirs.
8. I will work toward my goals by planning, executing, and measuring my progress.
9. I will make commitments with care and honor them with integrity.

All winning teams are goal-oriented. Teams like these win consistently because everyone connected with them concentrates on specific objectives. They go about their business with blinders on; nothing will distract them from achieving their aims. --Lou Holtz, former Notre Dame football coach
Teamwork is a make or break situation. Either you help make it or the lack of it will break you. --Kris A. Hiatt
In order to have a winner, the team must have a feeling of unity; every player must put the team first-ahead of personal glory. --Paul Bear Bryant
If a team is to reach its potential, each player must be willing to subordinate his personal goals to the good of the team. --Bud Wilkinson (1916-) US football coach
It is amazing what can be accomplished when nobody cares about who gets the credit. --Robert Yates
The nice thing about teamwork is that you always have others on your side. --Margaret Carty
The ideas that come out of most brainstorming sessions are usually superficial, trivial, and not very original. They are rarely useful. The process, however, seems to make uncreative people feel that they are making innovative contributions and that others are listening to them. --A Harvey Block
You put together the best team that you can with the players you've got, and replace those who aren't good enough. --Robert Crandall
No problem is insurmountable. With a little courage, teamwork and determination a person can overcome anything. --B. Dodge
Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success. --Henry Ford
People have been known to achieve more as a result of working with others than against them. --Dr. Allan Fromme
Win together, lose together, play together, stay together. --Debra Mancuso

First we will be best, then we will be first! Lou Holtz
"Good" is never enough, when "Better" is still possible!
Cry in the do-jo, laugh on the battlefield!
The more you sweat in peace, the less you bleed in war!
Whoever said, "The best things in life are free.", never won a single football game! (I will claim this as original unless someone can tell me otherwise.)
Block, Tackle, WIN! (next years t-shirt)

"First practice, while i hold a Mameluke Sword, USMC Sword"
The sword of battle is a cutting blood curtling weapon, countries have been forged on this very weapon, live have been saved becuase of it, famlies have been reunity. And yes it has caused great pain to the heart of the enemys. But before this sword was a thing of beauty it was a peace of old steel. A black smith beat on it then he heated it and beat on it somemore and it took weeks even months to get it to were he could just sharpen it. Then we had to take it into battle and test it over and over and over..Now we just parade around town with it and show it off for its an art work....you are my iron and I am your blacksmith.. and when we get done hammering, and heating and testing you then and only then will we polish it off and strut around town showing these colors off. Untill then lets get into the fire.
