What are your rules about personal grooming? Specifically about hair length and haircuts. Those who require haircuts, how do you "explain" or "justify" the rule?
Thanks for the feedback.

When I was playing, we weren't allowed to have any facial hair. The "justification" was supposedly professionalism. However, I have sensitive skin I can't take shaving everyday, plus the the chin strap irritating it. Before imposing grooming rules, please think hard about it. Is it really worth it? Obviously, the players shouldn't look like hobos, but this clean-cut image that some coaches want is a bit unreasonable IMO.

Geez what year is it? Who cares??? If a kid has long hair and he cant catch the ball cause he cant see it I suggest he gets a haircut or a bandana. But after that its really none of my business. As long as they aren't trying to wear a bra and panties outside of their game uniform what they do with their looks does not go into question by me or our staff unless it affects their performance....
Does anyone have real case situations where they have to make a demand???

Any thoughts of such a "rule" being a sign of selflessness, team unity, "we not me"?
If not this then what ARE your team rules? (beyond no drugs, tobacco, etc.)

DO RIGHT !!!
If you think something is wrong don't do it. If you think it is right do it. If you are not sure, don't do it!
Be on time. Respect everyone. Don't put yourself above your team.
UNITY is a team goal. What can you do to help our Unity?
No Hazing.
Everyone has a role (define them). Help out.
Anyways, I just dont put facial hair or hair length on priority list for things I want or want my coaches to look out for.
