I have to ask a couple of questions and I am hoping for an honest response.
As an official, I keep hearing about experiences at games where coaches feel like they are being hosed by the guys calling the games.
I haven't ever done this, nor do I know anyone who has done this, but it has to happen. So here are my questions:
1. Have you have been shafted by an official? Not a bad call or poor judgement, but a genuine trend where you clearly believed that you were being jobbed.
2. Do you believe that officials care who wins the game?
3. What do you want to hear/see from officials that will eliminate that feeling of bias?
I can't do anything with the overall officiating community, but I can affect the guys I work with. If I ever leave a game where a coach feels like we were biased, we have failed as a crew. I want to know what I can do to avoid that.
Thanks for the help.
