I’m looking at trying to visit a couple of colleges this off-season. Those of you that have/do visit schools when is the best time to contact them? When do you typically visit? I know spring ball is more than likely the common time.

Contact the recruiter who does YOUR area & SCHEDULE a visit! If you still coach Middle School get the HS your kids will go to to give you his contact info.

Here's my two cents....Let me start by saying it helps if you go to a school where you know one of the coaches or the school is recruiting one of your players. Yea, I know they all say come visit, but it doesn't always work that way. Went to one place and was treated like a leper; it ended up being a wasted trip. When we visited colleges B.P. (Before Pandemic), we would go any time in of February (after signing date)to mid March(before Spring practice). Keep in mind that some schools start spring drill much earlier than others; so check before trying to set-up a visit. Also, it's a good idea to have a written list of specific questions you want answered so that you don't end up asking to be taught the entire defense in one meeting.

Story alert: My 2nd year, we have the coaches get together at the HC’s house. Drinking, burgers, shooting the {censored}..all good. Door bell rings. I am instructed to answer the door....at the door is HC from big time school.I nearly {censored} my pants, and for the first time in my life, I was at a lost for words. But guess what? I am pretty much allowed at practice anytime I like. And to this day I am two things: 1:terrified to go by myself, And 2: I refuse to ask for anything.

I would think the pandemic will effect campus visits in 2021.

I'm gonna guess not many places will be open for visits this year.
