Coaches, Looking for different ways to handle takeoff script (practice plan the day before a game)/modify.
Currently, This is what we do.
2:30- Specials- Off Walk Through- Defensive Walk Through- 3:15 - Jog Through - Kickoff Return Offense 5 Plays score PAT Kickoff Defense 3 plays Punt Return Offense backed up (-3) Punt (Safe) Defense (3 plays) Punt Block Offense 3 plays PAT Block (just run them out on the field) Line Off up on the field work to transition to FG FG from the sideline 11 secs Half Time - get water KO (to the clock) Defense (4 plays) 4th Down Stop! Offense 3 plays then Punt (Spread) Defense 3 plays then PAT Block (start on the 20) Offense 2 minute drill 2 Pt Play KO (onside) x2 Take a safety Free kick Hands Team x2 Victory formation
Wanted to look at possibly putting an overtime period. Go over coin toss, rules, etc.

We are done no later than 3:45. After walk-through about 45 minutes max
At my previous stop, we were 90 minutes.

I like this a lot. I used to do this exact format as the JV HC a while back. It wasn't mentioned in the OP but, do you rotate you back ups as well? We would rotate a few everytime. Gradually we would have our 2s and 3s in at each position, instead of a whole sale change each time. Kept players paying attention and you could see who knew what team they were on and who was screwing around, not focused. The whole script took about an hour. Offense became a little tedious because of all the personnel groups but I thought it was worthwhile.

We did a lot during the walk-through and as needed on the actual takeoff.
It was more 1's and personnel as needed.
Made sure to rotate back-up QB and any players who "need" those reps.

We did this type of walk through and I liked how it put our guys in the game mindset, especially when we did it on the road.

We are similar, but also practice Hail Mary and rushing the FG unit onto the field for clock expriring FG attempt.

OP already has latter at end of 1st Half, may do Hail Mary during 2-minute drill (2nd half). One thing coaches should include is QB Sneak on Two from -1. Of course if you're a visor-wearing pass-happy Spread Gun guy who's never UC - NM.

A few years back we got beat on a toss sweep pass back to the QB who wheeled out of the backfield. Now we work last play of the game scenarios and make sure the scheme has a man for the QB.
