In North Carolina, we will be playing in February. I'm a fan of cold weather, but my hands usually get frigid when exposed. I'm looking for some gloves that will keep my hands warm but aren't too big/bulky to pick up balls/cones/pads, etc. I know that NIKE has several options, but I can't find reviews on them. I figured that some of you would have some experience. Any help is appreciated!

In October in Canada, which I assume is roughly comparable, I just use an old pair of football gloves for practice most days. It’s enough to take the edge off the cold and still leave me enough dexterity to use a pen. It’s so-so with the phone. I could use some capacitative thread but I just buy a pile of cheap styluses and keep them in my pocket.

A cheap trick I’ve learned that will work with any pair of gloves, and would be really ideal with some old football gloves, is to wear a pair of latex gloves under your winter gloves. They trap in all the heat, guard against wind, and are thin enough to fit under other gloves. I didn’t think it was legit but then I tried it a few years ago and it definitely made a difference.

How are these not popular anymore? I loved these as a player as well.

Thanks guys for all of the replies! I'm not terribly concerned about needing "touch screen" capabilities with gloves. I'm going to look into the Neumann's.

Trick I stole from an ACC position coach for what their skill kids do when they play at BC late in the year: Wear rubber/medical gloves under a pair of WR globes. Not blulky at all and your hands will be toasty. Only downside is, if it's only in the low 50s/high 40's, you're hands will sweat pretty good.

I can agree with surgical gloves. If you sweat a lot then I would poke some holes in them to let sweat out. My linemen would come off and it would look like they had Mickey mouse hands. They would wear them just by themselves. This was in 20 below weather. One of the coldest games I coached in. I wore my snowmobile gloves and was fine but those were big gloves.

An old lacrosse trick on Long Island to wear under their gloves.
