Hey there, young coach from Germany here. I just started coaching a U19-team this year (5th year playing), was basically a player and coach last year for the WR, played WR, RB, QB and DB. I should have just been the OC this year, but due to Covid our season got cancled, now i have become the HC (old HC retired). Now as I am planning our next season I have two questions I´d like to ask, first what is your favorite tool for a playbook, preferably for free (currently using PP). Secondly next year after I finish my bachelors degree, I would like to intern at a football program in the States, do you guys think something like that would be possible? Looking forward to hearing from you and good luck to everyone who is playing a season.

Yes. I think you will find plenty of takers. Heck you could probably get a teaching job, too.

Coach, DM me your email. I have a copy of Playmaker Pro that I'd be more than happy to share with you.

As mentioned already you might could get a temporary teaching certificate to teach German (or other depending on degree)

What is a place, where I could look for coaching/teaching jobs?

Fabian Holmer The first thing to do would be to consider WHERE you would want to try and find a job. The USA is a not a centrally governed nation state. Each the 'states' has its own criteria and requirements for things like teaching certification. While there might be some carry over from one state to another, you are looking for initial certification and would need to focus on that state's requirements. Once you figure out which state you want to focus on, then you go through its state board of education gaining certification. For example in South Carolina you would start here: SC Department of EducationTHEN, you will have to navigate the individual counties and school districts for each state for each state. For SC there are 46 counties and many counties have multiple school districts. The county I work in has 7 independent districts. For a map see here: MAPEach district will post jobs the are available. Coaching jobs are not even posted in some school districts. I'm not sure what exactly a degree in Sports Science entails, but if you have a heavy science background then you might could gain a science certification. Many states like ours have what are considered 'critical needs' subject areas and science would be one of those. Also there are districts themselves that are considered to have 'critical needs' in terms of these areas are very poor and have trouble recruiting and keeping teachers. The typical route teachers go to become a teacher is to enroll in a school that has a teaching college where you not only learn the subject material, you learn 'how' to teach. Then once you earn your degree, you take a test(s) and when you score well enough the state grants you a certificate to teach. However, many states like mine have alternate certification programs that allow people whom have degrees in other areas start teaching without having to take all the pedagogy classes. Some of the larger districts have their own programs because of the volume of teachers that districts needs to recruit annually. If you can get in touch with someone at the Department of Ed, you might be able to have them review your degree and give you a suggestion for the best route to take. For information on alternative certification programs in SC go here: Alternate CertificationYou may not want to go through all that just to be here for a year, but at least you have an idea. Here in the Upstate SC, there is huge German footprint because of the BMW plant between Greenville and Spartanburg.
