1) Stubborn coaches.
everything else you can either control, influence, or learn to like / appreciate
2) coaching in a 'dry' town.

Indifferent coaches - not willing to do what it takes to build a winning program.

Parents that do not care about their at risk kids an let them run the streets.
A very poor wrestling program, 6 of better players are wrestling and the wrestling coach treats like fraternity.

the pussification of american society has led to the result of all they above mentioned problems.
if we could just go back and redo the 1960s, we would have less problems.
the breakdown of the american family started to take place. free love and all that hippy crap.
it takes a village to raise a child crap.
instead of yelling a the kids for their problems we should take it out on the parents.
the babyboomer generation really set america back.
remember the great coaches. you know, they had a flat top, everyone in town referred to them as coach so and so. when coach so and so made the team run after practice, it was about developing character.
now you keep them late and you get phone calls.
people used to respect coaches not they make the the butt of their jokes.
I am sure in another 20 years or so we will play playing flag football with fullpads on. got to protect the kids.
look at little league baseball. kids are wearing facemakes in the field. they have pussified them when it comes to fielding the ball.
I personally would ban all youth sports if I had my say.

the pussification of american society has led to the result of all they above mentioned problems. NO G***MED WATERBREAKS! Everything today is improved and I don't like it. I hate it! In my day we didn't have hair dryers. If you wanted to blow dry your hair you stood outside during a hurricane. Your hair was dry but you had a sharp piece of wood driven clear through your skull and that's the way it was and you liked it! You loved it. Whoopee, I'm a human head-kabob. We didn't have Manoxidol and Hair Wings, in my day if your hair started falling out when you were 16 by 19 you were a bald freak. There was nothing you could do about it. Children would spit at you and nobody would mate with you so you couldn't pass on your disgusting baldness genes. You were a public menace, a crome dome by age 20 and that's the way it was and we liked it! We loved it. Hallelujiah look at me, I'm a bald freak oh happy day! Not like today, everybody feeling good about themselves. I hate it! In my day we didn't have these thin laytex condoms. So you could enjoy sexual pleasure. In my day there was only one kind of condom. You took a rabbit skin and wrapped around your privates and tied it off with a bungee cord and you couldn't feel nothing! And half the time you didn't even know your partner was there. And we used the same one over and over again! 'Cause we were ignorant morons! Just a bunch of hairless, head-kabobs standing around with rabbit skins on our dinks and that's the way we liked it!

1) Parents The best place in the world to coach is an orphanage. This may have been said tongue in cheek, but this is a TRUE statement. The most fun, success, and personal satisfaction I have had with players, is with players that have nothing at home.

I totally agree with airman! Instead of giving the kids football pads on the first practice, maybe we should hand a few of them a box of tampons.

program money with strings attached. ESPN - and over valuing individual performance / achievement video games.....when I was a kid, kids played outside....now, they think football is a video game.... This season, for conditioning, I made the defense divide up and with pads on, play touch-football nonstop for 10 minutes (no huddle) ......they looked at me like " HOW do you play that?"

Instead of giving the kids football pads on the first practice, maybe we should hand a few of them a box of tampons. heck, you cannot even wear padds the first day now. you have to wear shirts and shorts the first 3 days now in most states. i am sure it will not belong before spring andsummer practices will be limited or ended in most states.

Football ISN'T soccer, or softball - but people still think it should be.
