In Massachusetts our fall season got pushed to a new 4th season between Winter and Spring sports. We are allowed 10 practices with the kids in the fall. I'm looking for any ideas or suggestions people have for getting the most out of these practices. Here are the restrictions.
1- No shared equipment 2- No intentional contact with another player 3- Kids need to train in a "Cohort" with a maximum of 10 people including the coach. 4- No more that 22 people (players and coaches) on 1/2 of a football field at a time.
One of the things we are struggling with is how to divide up the kids. All our kids play both ways and will not be able to switch from one cohort to another. So our LB who plays OL wouldn't be able to get together with the LBs who play RB or TE.
Lots of questions, but would love any suggestions you guys have.

Currently we are dividing up basically Fr and JV/V. We’ve been getting big about 45 total kids so far, about 20-22 freshman and 20-25 Upperclassmen. Hour and a half blocks. One group at field doing small group conditioning and exercises. Try to incorporate a competitive aspect. Other group is strength training (half in weight room doing main lifts other half on side court in gym doing auxiliary lifts/core). Everything shared is sprayed sanitized after each set — at the start it took getting used to but the kids are good about it now. Masks on in gym at all times we have doors open to outside space if they need to unmask. Plenty of hand sanitizer and cleaner at both locations. We had extra masks too until someone stole them. We do a sign in every day using NFHS Covid sheet and take temps to have a record in case something happens. We’ve been going for 2montha not 1 issue or complaint so far. As for “football” activities, were still trying to plan out how we could work it. Maybe by position group based on O/D? Lineman and skills? The part I think is difficult is the spacing and the equipment guidelines. Hard to practice football when you’re not allowed to practice as a full unit of 11.
