In our area it is week 4 and from what I can gather, there hasn't been a single case of THE 'Rona breaking out from kids playing football. No outbreaks from sports in general either. How has it been for others?

I read something last week that there haven't been any outbreaks in the four states around us playing football this year. We are not playing this fall yet.

Michigan is opening the season this week.
At least one school is not playing due to an outbreak-quarantine.
Apparently one positive test constitutes an "outbreak."

Different schools have different rules in Mo, and while we haven't missed any, there are multiple teams that have, and teams scrambling as late as Thursday night to find a game.

And while it is a singular positive case for that team/school (Gladstone?), there isn’t anything to tie it definitively to participation in football or even attending school from what I’ve read.

We had a kid test positive on the JR high team. They got shut down for a few days. There were no outbreaks on the team from contact. From what I have seen there have been minimal cases popping up in are but no massive outbreaks.

I was referring to Utica. Newspaper report was that player contacted COVID "outside the football environment." They ended quarantine-resumed practice Wednesday but did not have required number of practices to play Friday.

And again I assume there no conclusive evidence that he contracted it from football participation, let alone attendance of school?

exactly. So it went down like this. He missed almost a week of practice then notified school he tested positive for it. So they shut it down for the remaining quarantine days required. Not one coach or player has gotten it from the team. There was also another team in our league that a coach tested positive and again 14 day quarantine and I have heard the same no outbreak in that program. We all know if it happens anywhere in any state it will be front page news.
****also the school identified him as a JR HIGH football player....instead of a JR HIGH student that is on the team. I prefer one over the other. One makes it sound like it is football related.

Had a JH volleyball game and HS JV football game cancelled due to a positive case on the volleyball team and two other cases within the school. The powers-that-be talked it over with two county health departments and those were the recommendation they made.
At the end of the day, there are quite a few folks that would like to see fall sports end completely here. So, administrations are taking a "better safe than sorry" approach. IMO, it would only take one actual outbreak linked to a sport to have the season end in this state.

They were sick and had been in school and practices with symptoms.
