We are having to quarantine 2 classes of kids (9th and 10th) because they were in the same locker room (we seperated them for Covid purposes from our upperclassmen). Those kids are now being defined as being in close contact.
The CDC defines close contact as: Individual who has had close contact (< 6 feet)** for ≥15 minutes***
if you dig hard enough you can find it further explained as:
What counts as close contact?
You were within 6 feet of someone who has COVID-19 for a total of 15 minutes or more You provided care at home to someone who is sick with COVID-19 You had direct physical contact with the person (hugged or kissed them) You shared eating or drinking utensils They sneezed, coughed, or somehow got respiratory droplets on you
That all being said, what is your state, school district, healthcare providers interpretation of who counts as close contact in the game of football? What is being done if a player who test positive for Covid blocks another player from your team or another?
How long if they are deemed in close contact are they being held out? 14 days? 10 days? Until they are able to get tested and receive a negative?
If anyone has any resources I would appreciate it! Thanks and good luck everyone!
