Heres the answer to the 14 guys on defense thing...its about attitude...we sell it to the kids that we need to get exactly 2.5 yards per play and we cannot be stopped...how hard is it to hold us to 2.5 ypp? well, thats the point...we think we can seal off a bunch of the defense with vertical push and sealing pullers....thats all...its just a confidence builder. makes kids tough...could you throw the ball just as well against those 14? i doubt it.

I will run the ball if the defense is so concerned about passing game.

My comment was meant purely as tongue in cheek. Was hoping by cracking a joke that maybe everybody would stop taking themselves so dang seriously. My mention of an amendment making it legal to own weapons, and airman's comment about an amendment making it legal for him to offend me made that a pretty funny group of postings. If I ever get mad enough to actually be "offended" that bad I need to quit coaching. No harm intended! The post was not deleted because anyone did anything to put them in "bad standing". However, the replies were getting further & further away from the initial subject of the thread. That, in addition to a few little "brushes" we've experienced led me to simply delete the topic. Start anew, if you will. I am merely trying to keep some order to the chaos that is our lives --

I sometimes come off wrong, everything with me is all in fun. It is a message board, and we can argue and fight and such, but what it all comes down to for me is this. We all coach the great sport of football, greatest sport and last true team sport left. If you coach FB you have my immediate respect. Airman and I disagree on philosophy, but who cares? To each his own. I still respect him, and if we ever met up we could argue face to face, and we'd drink beer and laugh about it all at the same time. I do not take myself so seriously I can't have fun. If I ever get so consumed with a little good natured ribbing, I will quit.

It's really too bad the thread had to be removed. There was some very good comments on coaching philosophies -- had me thinking quite a bit on my personal attitude towards running up the score.
This would probably too time consuming but, if the mods could just delete the inflamitory/off topic posts, we'd still be able to reference and continue the thread.

It is unfortunate, it came to this. Everyone is intitled to there own beliefs. I agree, those post should've been deleted, not the entire thread.
