Since we will have a limited # of people allowed to watch our games due to covid restrictions, we are going to try and livestream them.
Does anyone know of a service that allows us to charge a fee for people to watch our livestream so that we can recoup a little bit of the money we lose at the gate. I know we can facebook live it etc., but that doesn't help us pay referees or paint a football field.
Appreciate any help in advance.

Honestly, I would tell you to go f*** yourself if I was in that community and was told I have to pay to watch a HS football game, in a district I pay property taxes in to support said school and team. If you think people aren't outraged already about some of the ridiculous mandates that apply to HS sports right now...2 tickets per kid for an OUTDOOR activity, no sitting close to the field at soccer games, 15% of gym capacity for volleyball and on and on, wait until you try to make a grandparent or divorced spouse/parent of a kid pay. And don't throw at me that it's the same as paying an entrance fee. The schools (who don't have the backbone to fight back on some of this crap) are the ones limiting spectators, so I think its on them. What are some of these AD's and superintendents going to do when there isn't money to fund girls tennis, or wrestling, or any other non-drawing sport. I hope there is some reserves in athletic budgets because this is going to kill HS sports in the long term. Sorry for the anger, but I am so pi$$ed off about how there seems to be absolutely no common sense to how football spectating is being handled.

What would you say if our attendance was limited by our governor and then our State association in Louisiana and that as an AD my football program Revenue at the concession stand provides the revenue for girls tennis, boys and girls soccer, boys and girls powerlifting, boys and girls cross country and track and field. At a small private school that does not receive the benefit of your property taxes, we do not ever have athletic program reserves. It is why I cut the field, install the sprinkler systems, teach the extra environmental science class that didn’t get filled, etc. That being said that was why I was trying to find a common sense approach to paying for our referees, field paint, etc. Thanks for your feedback I do like seeing both sides of the coin.

First off, I didn't know you were a private school. That being said, yes you are in a bad situation, but I have the same response (maybe even more emphatic) if I am paying tuition and now you want me to pay to watch a game. Why AD's and superintendents have not been more vocal and forceful in their actions with the governors and state health directors is beyond me. The restrictions on how many can view AN OUTDOOR EVENT is just plain silly. There is no rhyme or reason to any of these "health mandates" when it comes to playing and spectating a football game. You can go out and tackle a kid and end up in a huge pile up, but you can't shake hands. You can double team on a block, but God forbid if you touch another teams football. You can wear the miracle mask and go to WalMart, but can't set 6' apart in an outdoor stadium. Just on and on this sh** makes no sense. I feel for you man, I really do. I just don't think any law maker has the forethought to look down the road at how these BS mandates are going to effect schools, and more importantly the kids, in the long term.

As a red blooded American, I am vehemently against all this BS. I am trying to control what I can control and put my kids and coaches in a situation to be successful.
Best of luck coach and thanks for the insight

Best of luck coach and thanks for the insight I feel like all I have done is complain and give you no ideas. So how about this: -Either yourself or a booster buy a decent camera that you can livecast to either Facebook or YouTube. Don't go cheap but don't break the bank. -Have either your technology class or whatever class you have that would apply, actually put together a real broadcast of all of your sports. Make it a gradable class project that many could get in on. -SELL ADVERTISING!!! Augment your program by making this something of quality that you could sell and use to generate some income.
