Had a freshman team coach who would wear his duck hunting outfit including boots on wet-rainy-muddy days.
All yellow. Looked like a giant banana.

Our field is eventually a pig sty by the end of the season. I wore muck boots during games, best decision ever.
I wore cleats to do some on the field work with my brother this spring and I really have considered making that a permanent practice option.

Nothing beats leather coaching shoes. They look awful but they are a lifesaver in the cold/rain.

C'mon, man! You guys get mad at me, but you've now had recommendations for every kind of shoe imaginable - from galoshes to hiking boots! Are you really any better off than before you read this post about what kind of shoes offensive line coaches should wear? Probably not. And, I've been wondering if the answers provided could also apply to Defensive Line coach or even a LBer coach...or is that a separate post! Oh, well, my time is up.

Too bad SpotBilt does not make their old Coach's Shoes with the rubber, rippled soles.
Those things lasted forever and the upper was made of a very tough leather that was as close to waterproof as could be.

Best shoes for OL coaches? Best does for WR coaches? Best shoes for DB coaches? Really? Just find some shoes that you like and wear them. No one knows your feet like you do. Everyone is different. Can we not even figure out our own shoe needs anymore? Wear flip flops, whatever. Just coach and stop all this nonsense. This over reaction brought to you by Facebook. And the Facemelter Offense ©, buying the Kingsbury package get a free* Visor to match with your pants. *Not all states have free shipping, please check before the checkout

Coach it cost a pretty penny to do, but if you are big like me (im 6’5 350ish 😫), see a foot specialist that can make some insoles. They will turn back the hands of time at least 5 years for your ankles, knees, and even your back. Anyways, these are the best shoes I have bought in many many years. www.newbalance.eu/en/pd/fresh-foam-hierro-v5/MTHIERV5-28517-M.htmlTo that dude who was complaining on the post—Im not going to call you a Karen, but that was very Karen-ish 😂😂😂

Ended up going with new balance 3000v4 fresh foam turf cleats. I'm very happy with them so far.

Hokas. I had Nike Revolution running shoes but then got some Hokas and it literally felt like I was walking on clouds. Pricey but so worth it. I’m 6’3 340 and can honestly say my feet don’t get sore at practice at all anymore

I started wearing generic boots this past season. I can’t stand wet shoes, especially during two a days. Wet shoes during 2 a days in August? That’s some brutal weather!

I am a big fan of Boombah turf shoes. Comfortable and have grip on the bottom if you are trying to demonstrate footwork.

This is when you turn to the baseball coaches and order a pair of what they wear. Waterproof turf shoes are a game changer for football practices especially when it’s wet!

I’ve heard there’s a brand of water proof hiking shoes that are good. Don’t know the brand. Also heard golf shoes are good but pretty pricey. As a big guy myself, with wide feet, I bought a pair of NB golf shoes to play golf. Forgot my coaching shoes one day and wore my golf shoes. Caught hell from the staff and the kids but NEVER wore any other shoe for coaching the rest of the season, and still used them for golf!

I love Boombahs but I have had some that were actually uncomfortable. But if I put a different insole in they were OK.
Lately I know I cannot go wrong with Hokas or Nike Pegasus.

Tried wearing them for coaching but continually rolled my ankles, so I went back to the NB golf shoes. Only wore the Hokas for casual outings. Less of a chance to hurt my old @$$.

Just bought another pair of Hokas. Last year I never felt sore in my legs/knees for the first time ever. Hoka's suck up a lot of your coaching stipend, but your feet will love them. Now...for inclement weather I go with different water proof options.

Do not wear flip flops to coach. This is bad advice. But if you do make sure to also wear a backpack, ear buds and neon shorts. Visor optional, but not really. I agree with the advice about not wearing flip-flops. There's a practical reason. Getting your foot stepped on hurts bad enough without being barefoot when it happens. If you're coaching OL you have a better than average chance of getting stepped on. Had a kid run up my ankle the other day, hurt like hell. Had high top Lebron's on so at least he didn't roll my ankle in.
