Hey coaches
As I am sure like many other states, we have certain restrictions placed on us for our camp. One of those being that we have to remain "socially distanced" (6 feet) as much as possible. We have alot of individual time scheduled along with formation rec, installing our coverages, alignments etc. on defense, then individual offense, and some group drills for offense. We also plan on installing the special teams units that we can do. We also plan on watching film by position groups.
We are a "T" team, so just curious for those who may run this offense or a similar offense, what are some of the drills you are doing in your camp while following your state guidelines? What are other drills you are doing on defense/special teams to make the most of the time available to you?
And please, I don't want to get into a debate on personal opinions about "socially distanced", "no football this year" etc. kind of stuff. Whether we agree with it or think its a load of BS, I am just looking for some outside the box ideas that you may be using this summer to follow your state guidelines as we explore this uncharted territory
Stay safe and God Bless!

Our state said as long as you’re not within 6’ for more than 15 minutes at a time you have social distanced
So now everything is 10 minute segments with a little break

Does anyone in any other state (or coaches in Michigan for that matter) been trying some different ideas for their camps?

We are in MI. Rather than do our traditional camp we’ve been working in smaller groups and for shorter periods of time. Similar to you we are a DW team. So for example, we’ve been hosting an OL camp the past few weeks for 1 hour a night, 1 day a week. OL show up, we keep them distanced working starts, pull steps, etc. Honestly after 45 minutes there’s not much left that we can do given our current rules. We have done some small group throwing on Air as well. We’ve installed all of our passing game, but that’s about it.
The big things that we are missing right now are installing our running plays, and getting defensive reps. We currently have some short Hudl installs that we are using for our our coverages, and may do the same for our base run plays.
At this point I don’t see is bringing our 9-12 kids all in for our traditional longer session camp as I’m not sure we could get much else accomplished. I’m certainly willing to change that if others have ideas that we could utilize.

We are going to install our blocking schemes against trash cans since we cant have defenders/shields across from us. We are playing around with different ways to rep a full team session without a handoff taking place. Since we are so big on fakes, we have a couple of ideas... thanks for sharing

I fastened hand shields to a fence 8 ft apart. Don’t have a huge team, so each kid had his own shield. Sanitized each when done 👍 it might not sound like a big deal, but it was nice to see them strike something! Could have used the sled but wiping down between each set didn’t sound fun.
