We share a city stadium with three other schools. The stadium seats about 10,000 and has a grass field. It's a beautiful facility and we don't have to worry about maintenance. On the other hand, sharing the stadium means that we have to play some Saturday games including some on (yech) Saturday night. The field also takes a beating and isn't pretty by November.

We have just replaced the wooden bleachers with aluminum, sweet. Nice grass field that the HC mows and the assts. paint. For the first game of the season we predict, optimistically, that all of the dirt will be covered with green. May be green grass, green weed, or green paint. Seats about 1,200 in the stands and 50-75 assistant coaches along the fence.

We play on natural grass that is well maintained and manicured by our Maint. dept. They also paint it and really pretty much spoil the coaches. Life is pretty good.

True story: First year at a school and we go 1-9. Kick a FG with 7 seconds in the last game to win. 0-9 vs. 0-9. The toilet bowl of all time. We have a great off-season and we go 8-2 and win district. I am coming down from the press box and I hear two guys in the stands say "COACHING SCHOOL MUST HAVE BEEN REALLY GOOD THIS YEAR." My wife heard it as well. It has been our running joke for the past 17 years.

"The green, green grass of home"
We replaced our grass a few weeks ago. A local grader, who is an alumni, donated all the grading. After he had the field ready, the coaching staff and some fans close to the program actually rolled out the turf. It was a $46,000 job that we spent less than $9,000 on.
Our stadium seats around 10,000, but we can shoe-horn in 15,000.
