North Carolina just canceled schools till May 15th which also means no sports or school activities. Spring practice will be canceled and now just praying we are able to start this summer. With so much uncertainty how are you guys going to handle ordering spirit gear, 7v7 gear etc.? I am afraid to order gear and 1. Not using it and having to eat the costs 2. Have parents/kids have to pay for it and with the financial strain even bigger I don’t want to add another cost. Our fundraiser to help pay for that stuff has been canceled so not sure what to do. How are you guys handling this stuff?

I just messaged a friend of mine who coaches at another school we are in Canada and it is the same here. The general consensus was to charge as little as possible.
Reality is we are going to have a lot of parents who may have not been working for 5-6 months (if we are back in school as of Sept). They are going to be in debt up to their eye balls because of trying to survive financially through this time. Buying spirit gear is going to be way way down on the list.
I am going to build something super cheap into our package using a brand like Russel try to keep the fees under $200 if at all possible. Then offer some fancier stuff as an extra that parents can buy once the season has started. Those who can afford it will buy it those that can't won't and their kid will still have team stuff. Normally we build in as part of our package brand name (Adidas or Under Armour): -shorts, t-shirt, long sleeve, hoodie, socks, girdle, team gloves
Our kids are well looked after and look the part in high quality gear but I just don't see us getting all that stuff for them as part of the fees.
Our response as coaches needs to reflect the realities of the situation. I hope that the parents in our group are going to be able to hang onto their homes and feed their kids.

Yeah I totally agree. Gear is the last thing anyone should have to worry about.

How are you guys handling this stuff? We're doing an online store. We've done this in the past anyhow, so it's not something new. Most of the local companies set them up for you and handle payments, etc. I don't require them to get anything but the shirt and shorts and I don't change it from year to year--so they can buy it once and be done if they want to. I also have a few extras that I keep so if a kid can't afford it. We put other items on there for those that want extras. We're going to go ahead and put the order info out there this week, they just won't get delivery until we're back. We throw some new extras on every year that tend to excite them.
