Factors in Success. You need a COMBINATION of the following:
1. Administrative Support.
2. Money for equipment, facilities, etc.
3. Ability to hire qualified Assistant Coaches
4. Support from the community and alumni (I wrote an article in Texas Coach Magazine a few years ago on "Selling Your Program to the Public" and am trying to LOCATE it).
Others (not as easy to control):
1. Location
2. League Alignment
3. Media coverage
The Head Coach must have the ability to bring all these elements together into a cohesive unit. He must instill good communication, know how to delegate, and be able to create an atmosphere of trust, teamwork, dedication, and pride within the team and the Coaching Staff.
