Coaches, we've played very well this year, however I can tell that the kids are wearing down. I would like some ideas from those who had done things to change the pace a little.
Thanks in advance for your help. Outlaw Josey Wales

One of the fun things we'll do for conditioning is split up our Skill guys and lineman. We'll get 2 quarterbacks. Each side lines up, and 1 person runs at a time. The first team (skill vs lineman) to catch 15 passes wins, and the other side must run a sprint we call 240 (basically 3 consecutive 80 yard sprints). We usually have them all run 10 yard curls at the start. The skill guys always win the first part. The second part..they have to catch 15 passes (15 passes in a row, if you drop one..the counter starts over)(this time they are vertical routes). Now to even the game, we'll make the skill guys catch the ball 1 handed. If they use 2 hands..it doesn't count and their timer starts over. The losing team runs a 1 240. We basically do all kinds of stuff with this. The lineman love it, cause they get to touch the football and look like overweight versions of Jerry Rice.

ONe brain child I have is to have the kids and fans design "play of the week"- the coaching staff will review all collected suggestions and install one play for that week. I tought itd be a good fund raiser as well, have the fans pay a buck for the suggestion.

TOG, I'm talking about something to shake practice up, something to change our schedule. These kids have been practicing everyday since August 8th and it's hot here in Florida even today.
Thanks for these suggestions guys. OJW
