I am looking for ideas that have high rewards without excess amount of extra work and organization.
I know I know don't say it....
But I just want to spend more time coaching and less time being a salesperson...well actually I want to be a salesperson of football to my players...but anyways....
How can I raise some money without driving everyone nuts in a district that does not allow corporate sponsorship???
Any ideas and / or tips would be greatly appreciated!!!

Coach -
Varsity Gold is a no-brainer. A nearby school made about $13,000 in ONE WEEK selling the Varsity Gold cards.
Varsity Gold does all the work...all your kids have to do is sell the cards.

We do all sorts of things, but this weekend at the Norcal Clinic, Varsity gold was starting a new fund raising program called "Gold Rush." It's really simple and could generate a large amount of money for your program. We will give it a shot, I signed up for it; doing it in the month of May when spring ball starts. Quick synopsis: All it requires from the HC is a letter and from the players a list of names and addresses. A local school generated $15,000(of course 30% of it goes to Varsity Gold). Here's all the Logistics: www.varsitygold.com/donation_letters.html

Maybe he should get royalties The only difference is you get to keep 100% of the profits.

i've added a couple of "fundraiser" links in the links section. been associated with those 2 and they work well and require little effort or investment.

One question about the beg-a-thon:
What do you do about postage? The way I see it, its going to cost you almost a dollar a letter when you include a return envelope. That gets pretty expensive if you write enough letters.

From the eteamz board.. someone said that they get each player to get the name and address of their 3 most well to do family members.. They then send them a sponsorship package asking for help.. I am not sure if they include anything in this or not, but its a good idea..

That gets pretty expensive if you write enough letters. There is some upfront money... but 1 buck to get 20 back. I'll finance that venture (guess that's Varsity gold's take on it too)

I have heard of some school setting up fire works stand as a fundrasier. Need a lot of parents time and involvement. One coach said he made 15,000 in a couple of days.

we do gold cards and we also do a lift-a-thon in march. kids get sponsors to give certain $ amount period or to give so many cents per lb they can bench. good time all the kids get into it and the community is invited also to watch. kids get shirt and bragging rights out of deal with local stores donating $ for shirts.

We changed our lift a thon last year. Instead of going out and getting pledges and then going back to collect money, we make up a sheet with the player's current max, and figure what a donation would be for a couple of amounts, 1 cent, 5 cents, 10 cents, etc. They take the sheet around and if someone wants to donate based on those amounts they can, or if they just want to give 10 or 20 bucks we take it, either way we get the money then, and they don't have to worry about going back out and collecting after we do the lift a thon. Then we do our lift a thon as a weightlifting exhibition, but we use the lifts for the kids to get into our weight clubs.
