Has anyone done this? Is so what did you use and how did they turn out?

We made some out of wood. One sheet of plywood made 4-6 boards (can't remember exact number). We've done 3 or 4 sets. Some have lasted 8 years, though we need to smooth some edges.

I did some for my Middle school some years ago out of carpet. They were light and easy to store and move. You can usually ask a carpet company for scraps for free. I was able to make them the width and length I wanted. They are good if you are on a budget.

I used PVC pipe to make my own, but they're not a traditional "T" shape. I feel like with a "T" you're limited on the steps you can work on. This is sort of what they look like: --|_ | \

I would try a horse stall mat from tractor supply. It's 4x6 heavy duty rubber you can cut down to size. For $40 you can make 3 of them.
