We are in the process of updating our old, worn out, out dated practice equipment. What are some of the things that you would say you use on a daily basis that you would not want to be without on the practice field? Bags, hand shields, dummies, boards, sleds, chutes etc. Looking for things that are useful throughout the year. I already have an idea, but wanted an idea on specific items, not just in general. Thanks

i tried to rank them in order.
Shields - used multiple times a week if not daily tackle wheel (if we had them) - would be used daily Bags - used weekly can also double as shields chutes (preferably the easily adjustable one) - would be used alot early on in the year but less and less as the year goes on. Trash cans - used almost everyday, dont need to be high quality tho, use them til they break.
if i had a special request it would be for a jugs machine.
Boards imo dont need to be new or quality if they're in one piece they still do the job. pop bags are another one that are nice to have but not a necessity

Trash cans. Forgot about those. We don't use them but we should.

Thanks for the suggestions, but what I would really like to know is what style and/or brand of bags, shields, sleds you would suggest. Oh, we use the heck out of those dollar store trash cans. Thanks again.

Instead of trash cans, if you can get traffic barrels from highway construction I would suggest it. They are lighter and have handles on top.

I once worked with an outstanding offensive line coach who went by the road construction each night on his way home and picked up one or two at a time until he had plenty of them. He had one of those covered pickup trucks he tossed them in. He was one of a kind. Unfortunately, cancer took him a few years back

The only thing we use on a daily basis are trash cans, shields, and bags for the different defensive positions.

I have a guy who works for our program that is a jack of all trades. Runs our field painting crew, can build anything, handles our sideline setup, etc. Anyway, I told him I wanted to get some and they showed up one day. He said they had been sitting around a former road construction site for over a year and he we were all taxpayers that had paid for them. If the DOT was not gonna come back and get them, no point in them going to waste.
