Just read that Vicis is closing up shop.
If anyone finds any company that can recondition their helmets, please share here! I have a player who now has a very expensive helmet with no one to recon it.

same here, we have 4 of them. I doubt any company will re-certify them with it not being their product but even if someone knows someone that will repaint them

That is crazy. I've a friend that coaches at a private school that bought 60 of them for a total price of $50 grand. The school was making payments of $10k per year for 5 years and was only two years into it. They got rid of all their Schutt and Riddell helmets - just gave them away, most were either new or only had 1 year on them! And this isn't a private school that has a ton of money.

Presumably someone would at least buy the debt, even at pennies on the dollar. That coach could then probably negotiate to pay more than his usual annual fee and clear the debt for less than face value, giving everyone an easy win.
