A couple things that would help people understand their situation.
1. Which is worse, hearing scrutiny over a call from a coach on the sideline or fans yelling at you from the stands?
2. What is the type of call (holding, Pass Inter, Out of Bounds) that people often get the most angry at even though it's the correct call?
3. If you could ask coaches to do one thing to make the game experience better, what would it be?
4. If you could ask fans to do one thing to make the game experience better, what would it be?
5. What is the most nervous or stressed out they have been prior to a game or making a call on the field?

1. What's the worst call you ever made? How did the coach respond? How did you respond to the coach?
2. What does it take for you to remove a coach from a game?
3. Are there certain coaches that intimidate you?
4. Stories about your crew or past crews that you wish new coaches knew but you couldn't throw your colleagues under the bus.
5. Funny stuff coaches have said that you wanted to be mad about but just laughed.
6. Stories of crazy parents on the way out of the stadium.
7. The importance of improving the craft of officiating and how they go about getting better each season.

1. Do you have a zone you're focused on? 2. Why do some refs feel the need to pee on the sideline and mark their territory before the game like tough guys? 3. Why don't HS refs get together like college and pro refs and discuss a questionable call to make sure the best call (possible) is made? I understand the flow of the game, but I think this can be done a few times. 4. What are some ways to get more people to be refs?

1. Is it universal for refs to not call holding/illegal blocks when wing-t teams are playing vs. ticky-tac holding on the edge for spread teams?
This is the only question I have. It has driven me nuts for years! Maybe they are just better at hiding it, but I have seen our kids literally wrapped up and hip tossed right in front of two officials and it's not called. Yet, we get 5 holding calls in the game and we can't find them on film.

Is 12 men in the huddle or breaking the huddle with 12 a penalty?

Is 12 men in the huddle or breaking the huddle with 12 a penalty? Not a penalty. There is the illegal substitution penalty that is in part up the official though there are common ways it is applied.

How many points does your IQ drop when you put on the stripes every friday night?
How big does your ego have to be to not admit when you made a wrong call or missed a call completely?
Do you feel justified abusing your power on friday nights due to being bullied during your childhood because you were a giant nerd and/or not athletic?
Just Kidding!!! Don't give me 15!!!

How do officials feel about communication with players? Only as it relates to the game, Small talk, jibber jabber back and forth.
I have had a few baseball umpires that also are at the umpire position in football and they talk to LB's throughout the game. Sometimes it isn't an issue and other times it turns into a problem.

When you see something, intead of actually throwing the flag and getting the call correct for the game, Do you take pride in saying "Not my call coach"?
