I am working on a proposal for my school board to replace our grass game field with field turf. If anyone has experience with this process- how much does the field turf cost? installation? Any idea how much it costs to water, fertilize, roll, aerate, mow and paint a grass field?

Since you are working on the official proposal I would suggest you get in touch with all of the companies and get their exact info. They will answer any question you can imagine (and know how to word it so it seems best for the school )

u also have to get an all weather track put in, they will not install field turf if you still have a dirt track, if mud gets tracked onto field turf it ruins it,

we had an estimate by them...it was 750,000 to 1 million...variable was that it was hard to get to the field to do the work needed...it would include lights and a field house of course...

you can do so much with field turf. the cost of a basic field(numbers, yardlines, hashmarks) is around 700,000. now if you want additional things line colored endzones, your school name in the endzones, your logo on the field. this all costs extra.
another thing you have to consider is the crown on the field and water drainage. if you do not have a proper field area the water just collects on the sidelines. hence, you are standing in water.

How long do they predict that field turf will last?

Have the major turf people come out and they will put together your options. If we go with field turf we can get 2 multisport fields done and the track resurfaced. If we go with one of the other manufacturers we can get 3 fields done and the track resurfaced. The AD and board are weighing their options and are going to hear final proposals from 3 companies. All the AD did was make some calls and each manufacturer came down on a different day. They gathered all the information and then gave a mini proposal that is going to be followed up by a proposal in a few weeks to the board and administrators by each company. After that it is decision time? ? Already, I believe they are leaning to field turf because of the reputation.
