I just took over a program that didn't field a team the past 4 years. This year we will field an 8-man football team. The kids want to compete but we have only 3 weeks to condition, prepare and gameplan before our first game. My question is how do I get the kids in shape in such little time without causing any heat related injury or illness?
Gradually. Build up a little each day, whatever conditioning regiment you go with add either another component or another rep each day. You can include gameplan and conditioning in some instances as well which saves time.
