We're looking for a slogan for this year (yes, I know it's kinda late). We want the central theme to be centered around creating a lasting tradition. This school has had spurts of success over the last 30 years, but nothing consistent. Thanks for the help.

We used this one 2 years ago. The origin is from ancient Greek literature. The kids really liked it - we'll probably dust it off again next year.
"As you go into battle, remember your ancestors, and also remember your descendants!"
The idea is that others have come before you and have proudly worn the uniform you are now wearing, and others (grade school, jr. high, substitute..) will put the uniform on after you have gone. We want to honor the "tradition" that our ancestors have developed and continue the tradition for those who follow.

Another one we use is "Hold onto The Rope". I heard Grant Teaff speak on it once back in 84 at a clinic. The idea was that if you were hanging off a cliff - who would you want holding onto the other end?
2 years ago, one of our seniors designed a logo with a hand holding onto the rope with drops of blood coming off the grip and the slogan. Players would "earn" their shirt by holding onto the end of our big tug-o-war rope while the rest of the team would drag them 50 yards on the field. We would do 2 guys at the start and 2 guys at the end of practice until everyone had been welcomed into the club.
