how many of you guys on here are at the collegiate or higher level? What are some of the things you do as far as recruiting wise?

yeah you are correct and no offense taken, we are kinda like the Pop-Warner for adults, the only difference is we are trying to help some of these players get into the league (pro's) who might not have quiet made it in the first place. I am going to do all I can to help these guys out. Since I am new at this I am going to get all the help I can to get some of these guys help getting into the league.

At this point we a putting out fliers in the community (ies) in the surrounding area, Have tryouts, and then put players into position. This is how we have done it so far. I think that we will probably be able to recruit like this on a pretty easy basis, the only problem that we have had is getting enough linemen to show up.

When I played the team had its organizational meeting at a bar. Free beer has a way of drawing interest. |

WE play in Southern Oklahoma. With us being a fledgling team it would be kinda hard to have a highlight film since we are in our first year in the league, but a good idea. And the manual and website thing is a gret idea.

I'm not sure what level/age of players you are looking for, but I think if you went to local high schools or colleges and looked for un-recruited guys, I'm sure you'd find quite a few that would play, especially guys who could be linemen.
If there were semi-pro opportunities up here, I think a lot of guys that didn't get a chance to continue playing would come out for it.

fliers at area gyms & sports bars would do it, too.

I like the Recruiting around a college campus idea. There is actually a 4-year here in Ada and probably a lot of untapped talent. We have a lot of former college players on the team, just needing to get linemen, there is also a smaller college north of here and south as well (a 2-yr college in both cases) Have a guy that is going to be my DC and he said there is a lot of " big guys who want to play football here". My DC is none other than newfootballcoach73 from here on these boards. I would like to say welcome to him and My OC as well. Wish us luck on our season and recruiting. Please keep the ideas coming!!
