What do you do when your D1 quaterback is prospect is also a High Major D1 basketball prospect. A school in Minnesota has that issue. Jalen Suggs is considered a major college football prospect AND he is maybe the guard for Basketball in his class. And no this is not some body saying that. The kid is playing for Team USA in a major international basketball competiton now. How would you handle workouts and such. And FWIW he has already stated he WILL play football this year for his Senior Year. (Kid led both the Football and Basketball teams to State Titles last school year)

Well since every state doesn't allow any mandatory practices till the first official day of fall sports, welcome him back to the team when he's done with hoops. Obviously the kid is a stud and a special talent so guessing he doesn't need much summer work. I wouldn't care when he was around as long as he made it when he was able to, he's gonna be the best dude no matter what. Terrell Pryor in PA and Allen Iverson are guys I saw who were the top recruits in both sports and had no problem playing both.

I think most of us would be thrilled to be in that position...
As wingtol said, he's going to be the best dude no matter what. And it's not a case of a kid sitting around all summer doing nothing, there's no 'work ethic lesson' here. So, I wouldn't overthink it.

Actually, I the issues would be in dealing with other adults, as opposed to football issues. I would probably be focused on that kind of foolishness as well as helping out in the recruiting process if they wanted. Apparently the football team in question seems to be part of a 3 private school co-op. So, that could lead to some issues between football and basketball (since according to the website, his basketball team's practice in June and July and "captain's practice" starts 3 weeks before the official start. I am not familiar with co-ops, but I am sure there can be all sorts of adult agendas ruining things for kids.

Quarters and Semis are free. You do have to buy the title games as those were broadcast over the air in Minnesota. I watched the Finals last night and the kid was impressive. I TiVoed the games and haven't deleted them yet so that's how I watched it. Besides playing quarterback he also plays defensive back and had a 97 yard interception return for a TD in the finals
