In the program I'm coaching for now, our equipment is in my opinion pretty outdated.
Some of the stuff is real bad. So we have to pick and chose the best stuff though the piles of gear we have.
The school district is a rather poor rural district with little if no support from parents, since the majority of them are poverty wage farm workers. So I know we are not getting much new stuff every year.
We do fundraisers, but we rarely make a good amount of money. And when the program has had a successful fundraiser in the past, the administration has cut back funds from the program. So say if we made $1000 dollars, then the school would cut our budget back 1k. So the incentive to fundraise is non existent.
So when do you think equipment is getting time to replace? I'm talking helmets, shoulder pads , legs pads ect...
How long do helmets and pads stay in your program before they are taking out of play?

there are some liabilities your district is flirting with when it comes to helmits. I believe helmets are to be reconditioned every 3 years and pulled out of use if the company sees fit. I also think that most helmits only have a 10 year life span before they are to pulled out.
