It is truly sad that they are gone.
I lost several friends while serving overseas. Terrible violence and deadly trauma is an awful way to die. I think of my friends often, and today especially so.
I recall the sentiment of General Patton. Yes, let's grieve...but also, let's thank God that these men existed.

I wear them on my wrist and think of them often....not just on Memorial day. I grieve every day...but I also thank God that my men lived. Well said!
