how much of the 'other side' of the ball, whether its offense or defense, do you know? how much do you need to know as a coordinator? head coach?

since you were offensive primarily, how is the switch to thinking defense first?

personally, I think it's vital to your success as a coach. In the off-season, I spend more time learning about offense than I do about a particular defense (as a 'defensive' coach).
I find knowing what the "other side" is trying to do helps me counter-act or attack what they try to do. I would feel just as comfortable coaching offense as I do defense (have coached every position).
