our soph year we ran a double reverse flea flicker the third play of every game. I would love to know how the heck our OL blocked it. Anyone have any ideas?

Anyone still run the "Wrong Ball" play? We tried to run it 2 years ago - told the refs about it before the game and had it all set up. When we went to run it, everything was going perfect till the sidejudge blew his whistle so we could actually change balls! One of the closest times I ever came to putting hands on an official.

Build your trick plays off of a base play. We were a big counter team and put in a flanker reverse off of counter - Called it Nasty Reverse because of the double peelback blocks on the playside edge and perimeter.
Pick what you do well - and then ask for help with some good "gadgetry" to keep the opponent on their toes.
A piece of good advice is to USE your trick play early in the game. Don't wait for a time when you need it as it may be expected.
We try to use our gadget in our first 12 plays.
We have three gadget plays and we rep them twice a week, every week.

a good gadget play for any fly guys is a fly pass, one of our flys is the backup QB, wed bring him in motion, mesh it the same as a greensweep then hed bubble back a little and throw a deep ball. Ran it first play of our homecoming game for a 60 yard TD

This play is illegal if you use any verbiage to trick the defense.. So you cant have the QB hollar over to the sideline, "hey coach, I got the wrong ball"

It's illegal to communicate with the head coach? Is this a state specific rule or general to high school football? Hope it's just in your neck of the woods, I like the sound of that!

Using that language yes it is a penalty and has been for quite some time. The old "Where is the Tee" play has been illegal for quite a stretch, same play, different words.
