Looking at making the switch to these or even the 5 pad model (don’t want to forget knee pads on game days so most likely 7 pad). Anyone have any experience using these ....?
Was thinking about having the players purchase their own... saves all the boxes of random squishy pads all over the place , mismatches , missing sets , and allows us to eliminate the need for practice pants all together as we would just wear our “pride” shorts over the girdle for most practices .
Anyone recommend a brand or rep?
Thanks

we use 5 pad, but gear 2000 have held up well and mueller too. we had some Riddell but it had bigger solid pads rather than the thinner honeycomb pads and players didn't like them as well

Agree 5 pad models are way to go. We have had McDavid, Schutt and other brands. With a tight budget we have chosen to take the best deal being offered by our vendors. All have held up well.

Honestly, all of the 7-pad brands we have used are great. They're kind of a PITA to wash and dry but we don't have any complaints other than that. They save space, cut down on inventory and just make life easier.
We prefer them over the 5-pad as we were going through knee-pads like toilet paper: the kids just can't keep track of them. We charged six kids for lost knee pads this year; two kids were charged for two sets because they just disappeared.
