I added some extra choices for those that want to say something other than no.
Any takers on how this one will end up?

unfortunately, we've had a few TO's on our teams over the years. "kicking a kid off" the team is a delicate issue.
We had the team "leadership counsel" vote this kid off this year. He WAS probably the most explosive player in our conference before he transfered to us. Problem was, the reason he transfered was because the previous school wouldn't put up with his hijinks anymore (theft).
We put a lot of faith in his abilities (D1 / AAA baseball player for sure) this past season.... Guy shows up with excuses, stole a credit card, blows assignments on the field, stole a players phone, walked out of team meetings.....
Kids really rallied when he was booted and finished 'strong'...
This kids' parents really laid into the program and, of course, think that this was unjust way of doing their kid wrong....

I'm split on this broader topic. With TO, it's a big hell no. I even hope Coach Reid doesn't waive or trade him, pay him his roster bonus and make him stay all 7 years. Send him to NFL Europe! It'd never happen but I sure wish it would. TO is a lost cause, he's old enough to know better but doesn't.
But with kids, there's still time for you to influence them. Obviously how much you can put into it (your own personal circumstances), assuming you're the HC, you still have a glimmer of hope of making a difference to a young person's life. I say kick them off the team, but give them a caveat to return. Like dishing out your own community service. If the kid wants to play that much, and is that good, it might get them back towards the striaght and narrow.

I fiound it hard to cut 13 players this year because of the crap they would pull. Showing up when they wanted, starting fights, excessive profanity towards players, coaches, officials. If they grow from the experience great they can come back conditionally. In the T.O. incident he is a big boy now making the moola..if he can't be a better person than he acts like I'd say to him leave and go somewhere else thats only if anyone will have him. He has burned his bridge with his childish antics and is a true role model for the kids "NOT." Let him sit and wallow in his self pity. He's probably done for awhile.

Its a shame to see a guy with so much talent and hall of fame potential and who is arguably the best WR in the game today, DESTROY his career the way TO has destroyed his! But TO isn't the only problem. He has an agent who is just as arogant as he is.
Unfortionatly there is a team out there that'll pick him up next year. HE WONT GET PAID THE MONEY HE WANTS! But someone will pick him up.

can't mortage the team or program for one player.......bottom line
the program is bigger than any player AS WELL AS any coach..........
program = family
those that can't come to grips with that and embrace that are missing the boat.
