How big is "Yours"? ;D
School enrollment of your school Advantages / Disadvantages
I come from a school a hair under 1200. Advantages, there are a lot of kids, obviously. Tougher conference, lots of support (for the most part) and money is there. For the most part, a large athletic pool to use.
Disadvantages, the tougher conference - inner city kids that have to fight distractions. The affluent kids who are doing a thousand different activities at once, parents are really influential in the 'school politics'. Dealing with in-city recruiting. Trying to get ALL that talent in the halls on the field.
54 kids Varsity 40 kids Soph 40- 50 kids Freshmen (usually, we were looking at having TWO freshmen squads this year)
The 'good coaches' at lower level is sooooo true.

How many kids are on the freshman team, how many on the JV team?? Is there an established boys soccer program there?? I've seen a school with 340 kids(boys and girls)that have 60 boys really into football and making the program go, and at the same time have an outstanding boys soccer team every year. Then I know of a school that has 1,300 kids and only 40 of them are into football. I do know that good freshman and JV coaches stop the attrition bleeding, as so many kids quit after their freshman or soph. years.....

Our school enrollment ranges from about 170-190, 9th-11th grades(that is what our state measures). Our 9-12 football numbers range from high 30's to low 50's depending on the number of football players per class. Last year we had 3 seniors! The obvious disadvantage is overall numbers and the lack of depth. So the next time when one of you from a large school thinks that you don't have depth at a position, be thankful! Great advantage to a small school is that you see the kids play in 7th & 8th grade and you coach them from their 9th grade year on up. You can build great relationships with the kids and teach them what you want early in their career.

I have been at schools from 2600 to 500 kids in the school. I like the small schools better.

we have over 2200 kids. we don't have great numbers on the football team. about 40 on varsity, 45 on jv (including 12 injured), and 55 on freshman. our kids are so involved in everything at school that we fight with their other commitments all the time. they always think that they can get out of football before they can whatever else they're doing. we are having success this year that the school hasn't seen in a long time, but it still seems like we're fighting an uphill battle.

I have to go to a choir rehearsal that's it exactly. choir practice, private tutors, driver's ed...the list goes on and on.

I can't vote!!! We have 135 enrolled, and the lowest choice is greater than 200!

Our enrollment is near our state 3a limit, which we are currently a part of. We are new to the 3a, but still only have 18 true varsity players, we bring up a lot of JV to fill up our roster, maybe only 2-3 see any gametime. So with us possibly moving to 4a in the next block, we can only hope that we get more athletes. It is our freshman and soph classes that are big, Our junior and senior class range anywhere from 80-100 apiece, then you go to the underclassmen and I think our soph, class has 200+ and our freshman has 300+. Our incoming freshman class is said to be in the 300-400 range. So I think in 1-2 years we will be able to compete when our soph and fresh class are juniors and seniors.

Our school has about 350 students with about 30% being Hispanic. We can't get any of the Hispanics out for football. THis really hurts our numbers. We had 39 total players (Fr.-Sr).

I coach at a school of about 1350, but for a school our size, numbers aren't great. We had about 45 kids sophomore through senior. The freshmen program had about 35, which isn't many considering, naturally, that all freshmen classes shrink by the time they reach varsity. Even at a school our size, we have trouble with other sports. Our school is a basketball powerhouse and we basically have to totally plan our summer routine around what basketball does.

hmmm ...we have a touch under 1900, but most are natives and tend to want ot play basketball over football..we are one of the smaller schools ing our classification (5A) and in our district we have one of the largest schools (touch under 4400) so the talent levels can be considerably different
we had 52 Varsity 26 additional at JV and the freshman team was 35 this year.
total of 113 this year.
The school i left in oregon was 54 Varsity 50 JV and over 70 on the freshman team (split inot two teams this year at the Freshman level) total school enrollement was 1250 i believe.
